1 John 2: 1 My little children, these things I write to you, so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous.

We all know that this advocate we have is Jesus Christ.

He is our advocate with the Father.

But who is accusing us?

A vast majority of Christians think that God accuses us as in a court, and that Jesus pleads for us speaking to God.

Many believe that Jesus is the advocate who will try to appease the anger of God towards us when we sin. They think that Jesus is the one who will try to convince God to release our accusation.

God does not accuse anybody. God has no problem with human beings, because Jesus took everything to the cross, all the sins of the world, without any exception.

To have an advocate one must be charged, the one who accuses us is the devil, not God.

When we are born again, the only one who can try to accuse us is satan and his demons. But it's in vain for them because this court took place more than 2,000 years ago.

At the cross satan lost, and today he can try to accuse us as he did for Job for example. But it is in vain because as satan cannot do it anymore, Jesus is the one who took our condemnation upon him, so it is impossible that we could be spiritually condemned by whosoever, nor by satan, nor by any demon, nor by any human being, or even ourselves.

Romans 8: 1 There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

Any accusation against us is obsolete.

The verse that follows 1 John 2: 1 is great.
1 John 2: 2 And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.

Jesus took the sins of the world! It's done, no one can come back on it. We just have to accept it to see it come to pass.

If you have not accepted Him yet, He wants to become your advocate, so that the fact that there's no more condemnation on you will become a reality.
