Mark 12: 29-30 Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is: ‘Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
We often take this passage from Jesus as a commandment in the time of grace. But Jesus was only answering the question of a scribe who asked Him what was the first, or the most important of all the commandments.
In the time of the Law this commandment was that was the best. But today since we are in the grace period, there is a much better way.
Not that the ten commandments would have to be eliminated, not at all, but the path of grace gives us advantages beyond those of the Law.
It doesn't help to make all our efforts to love God, because it will never produce a sustainable and intense result.
God wants you to let Him love you!
It's a huge difference. Let myself be loved by God is to let Him come and show me how much He loves me, how much He appreciates me, how much value I have to him.
1 John 4: 19 we love him, because he first loved us.
John understood it very well, we can only love God if we have understood His love for us. I can't love God in His wholeness until His love has not penetrated my thought and my whole being. Then, because I would have understood and especially tasted this love, I'm going to be able to love Him in return, based on what I would have experienced of Him.
God intends that we allow ourselves to be loved by Him, that we let Him, with all our confidence, become soaked by his love. It is the first thing to do in order to live in harmony with Him. Otherwise we will have no idea of how He loves us, we will have no idea of this unconditional love.
Then let yourselves be loved by God. Take some quiet time to tell Him. No matter where you are, be focused, realize your words, and tell Him: "My God, I want to let you loving me. Show me how much you love me, I want to experience your love to love you the best ways.
Your life will be transformed...
See you soon.
